Hi, I’m Lisa.

Welcome to Bright Family  — I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Lisa Lombardi Hielscher (pronounced “Hill-sure”), and I’ve been a practicing Occupational Therapist since 2006.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Dance and Psychology from the University of Washington, a combination that sparked my early love for the mind–body connection. After graduation, I returned to my hometown of Chicago and worked in event fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I quickly realized I wanted to be on the clinical side—working directly with patients and their families—rather than behind the scenes. That realization led me to discover the field of Occupational Therapy, and I instantly knew I had found my path.

I received my graduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2006 and soon moved to San Francisco to begin my OT journey. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of settings including acute and subacute hospitals, schools, early intervention teams and both home-based  & clinical pediatrics.  I truly love partnering with children and families in meaningful, collaborative ways.

In 2021, I completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. The ways yoga shapes my OT practice—and how OT informs my yoga teaching—continue to deeply enrich my work. I’m endlessly inspired by how these two disciplines complement and elevate each other.

Bright Family has grown slowly and intentionally, alongside the full and beautiful years of raising my own family. I’m honored to support individuals across the lifespan in maximizing their potential and deepening their participation in daily activities, parenting, personal growth, and overall well-being.

On a personal note, I live in Southern Marin with my husband, our three children, and our labradoodle. When I’m not working or with my family, I find joy in dancing, yoga, hiking, cooking, reading, and spending time with dear friends.
