Maternal Wellness
Nothing rings truer than the idea that parenting is the hardest job you’ll ever love. Especially in the early years, when our little ones rely on us for everything, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, overextended, and out of balance as we try to hold it all together. This season of life brings profound transition, and it’s common for the self-care practices that once grounded us to fall by the wayside.
Occupational therapy during the perinatal period and early years of parenting can play a meaningful role in restoring that sense of balance. Together, we’ll identify where you may be feeling stuck or stretched thin, uncover the barriers getting in your way, and create a thoughtful, personalized plan to help you feel more like yourself again. When you’re supported and functioning at your best, it becomes easier to show up for your family in the ways that matter most to you.
The scope of occupational therapy is uniquely suited to meet the wide-ranging demands of motherhood. I offer support with role transitions, establishing sustainable routines, safe movement throughout the perinatal period, pelvic health education, nutrition and sleep guidance, and rehabilitation for common physical concerns such as carpal tunnel syndrome, low back pain, and abdominal wall separation. We can also look at your environment together and make practical adjustments so your space supports your daily rhythms rather than working against them.
I’m also certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International, which allows me to support and guide you through the often complex and ever-evolving landscape of emotional wellbeing in motherhood.
